✧ Are you an Absolute Beginner?
Even though this is an easy pattern, it combines a variety of techniques & methods which could prove to be overwhelming to an absolute beginner. Therefore, I suggest you to start with 1 or 2 simpler projects:

• Crochet Skirt:
• Crochet Ear Flap Hat:
• EASY Crochet Bag:
This bag tutorial includes some important techniques. However, you should also practice a little more with a project that makes use of mostly Double Crochet, such as:
• Crochet Bikini:
• Crochet Corset Top:

✧ SUMMER YARN
Great yarn for summer clothes should be made of “any material that is breathable for the skin!”. Cotton, linen, bamboo, silk,… Keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be 100% natural. Something like 100% cotton yarn is usually stiff & hard to handle. Personally, I would choose yarn that’s around 40% to 60% cotton. It would be nice, soft and still breathable 😉

✧ Weaving the Ends/Tails the right way

✧ COUNTING STITCHES
Here is the thing: If you end up having more/less stitches than you should, you probably accidentally increase/decrease stitches somewhere.

The most common mistake that leads to having more stitches is to work more stitches than the pattern tells you (e.g. you worked two stitches in a stitch while pattern tells to put only one, or you put three stitches where it was supposed to put only two. And if you have less stitches then you probably skipped one or more stitches on the way.

What you can do is to go back, find out where you made the mistake(s) and redo.If the mistake is not serious, you can cheat a little bit by working a random extra stitch if you need more, or skipping a random stitch if you need less 😉 However, if you do this more than once on a piece, the shape of it may get distorted 🙁 So, be careful.

✧ MADE-TO-MEASURE METHOD
With this method you will follow the same instructions & pattern through out the video, except the size’s guide. You’ll need to come up with your own number of chains, stitches and rows! Here are some tips:

1. Foundation Chain – This chain need to be an EVEN number and the length is around 2-3 inches longer than your Hip Measurement. Make sure you stretch the chain out as you measure it or wrap it around your hip.
2. Waistband – Same as video
3. Hip & Back Seam Increase – This part would decide how high is the waist, for low waist work less rows and high waist work more rows.
4. Bottom Bridge Chain & Separate Legs – Same as video
5. First Leg – Same as video
6. Other Leg – Same as video
