I use a Sony CX900 camera for recording video tutorials. My software is Sony Vegas Pro 13 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. The great thing with YouTube is watching video on demand at any time of the day. For those of you with mobile devices, you can crochet at the beach, park or during breaks from work. Some of the video available are hats, scarves, afghans, lace doilies, flowers, baby blankets, shawls, granny squares and stitches. Crochet can be compared to meditation and is a great way to stay focused. Please subscribe for new crochet video on YouTube and Follow on Google+.

Crochet is a process of creating fabric by interlocking loops of yarn, thread, or strands of other materials using a crochet hook. The name is taken from the French word “crochet”, meaning small hook. These are made of materials such as metal, wood, or plastic and are manufactured commercially and produced in artisan workshops. The salient difference between crochet and knitting, beyond the implements used for their production, is that each stitch in crochet is completed before proceeding with the next one, while knitting keeps a large number of stitches open at a time.

In the textile arts, a stitch is a single turn or loop of thread or yarn. Stitches are the fundamental elements of sewing, knitting, embroidery, crochet, and needle lace-making, whether by hand or machine. A variety of stitches, each with one or more names, are used for specific purposes.
